Klara and the Sun

Her mysterious images appear in numerous international magazines and newspapers. Isabel Seliger has now illustrated Kazuo Ishiguro's novel Klara and the Sun. It is the first book the author has written since winning the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2017.

What is the book about? The android Klara lives in a dystopian future. She befriends 14-year-old Josie. Since Josie is seriously ill due to a genetic mutation, the android tries to help her with solar energy. In the process, she discovers love, faith, but also the question of her own belonging.

To find the right mood for her illustrations, our illustrator Isabel Seliger traveled to the sea and spent many hours observing the sun. Inspired by this, she created this beautiful book, which is now available in a magnificent edition from The Folio Society, priced at £85.
