Isabel Seliger
Isabel Seliger was born in Gera in 1984. She studied visual communication at the Kassel Art Academy, specializing in comics. After graduating, she moved to Berlin, where she has been working as a freelance illustrator for magazines, newspapers, and books. Isabel has been represented by Sepia since 2016. Today she is an internationally renowned illustrator.
Her visual language is minimalist and narrative. The vast landscapes in computer games inspired her from an early age. Starting with small drawings in her sketchbook, she continues the process on the computer. Here she likes to experiment with overlapping structures. For her, coloring is a process of searching and finding until her pictures achieve the unique atmosphere that is typical for her.
Her favorite subjects include fantasy, society, faith, science, and portraiture. She says about her work »I like to create atmospheric, mysterious and poetic motifs that play out in an inner rather than an outer world.«
