Frederik Jurk was born in Mainz. He graduated from the department of design at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and is based in Hamburg.

His workflow is digital, but preserves a distinct handmade quality with rough edges, expressive lines, living textures and a warm, emotional expressiveness. Thereby his subjects look very alive, striking, straight and mod. One of his favourites is the illustrated typography. In 2021 he illustrated his first book »Kater Vater« for the newly founded publishing house Ready to Daddy in Hamburg. Frederik has kept the 40 dad-child games in it in his typical loose stroke.

Frederik about his work:
»Sources of inspiration are modern poster design, animal TV documentations, foreign packaging design, stone-aged cave paintings, old-fashioned entertainment electronics, beautiful women, silly cartoons and japanese videogames.«

His work is published in newspapers and magazines such as Auf die Zukunft, Das Magazin, DIE ZEIT, Focus-Schule, Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, FAZ Hochschulanzeiger, FAZ Magazin, Friedrich Verlag, FTD, Haspa Magazine, NZZ, Psychologie heute, SonntagsZeitung, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Welt am Sonntag, Women's Health and publisher Hermann Schmidt.

He publishes books and prints in his artist-group Poste Aerienne.
